The Australian Working group for the Open Industrial Interoperability Ecosystem (OIIE)

09/07/2021

The Australian Working group for the Open Industrial Interoperability Ecosystem (OIIE) is an initiative co-developed by NERA and MIMOSA  aimed at leveraging and enhancing the OIIE to bring value to local businesses. The OIIE specifications form the core of ISO 18101 which is being developed to provide vendor neutral digital ecosystems that support decision making for asset intensive industries and critical infrastructure. Such vendor neutral digital ecosystems present an opportunity to provide significant value for lifecycle asset management. For more information, please refer to link below:-

There has been a lot of work been done towards achieving this goal and ensure that Australia has a voice in the development of these standards that suits Australian industry by the establishment of an Australian Technical Committee EL-069 Automation systems and integrations that provides a formal voice into the ISO standards.

Participation in this working group can provide commercial benefit through the:

      • Establishment of test labs to allow digital services providers to test compliance to the existing standards and interoperate with other digital service providers.
      • Establishment of test labs to allow digital services providers to test new standards developed to support Australian industry and digital service providers.
      • Establishment of a project in the FEnEx CRC to research and test interoperability specifically around asset management analytics. See https://www.fenex.org.au/research-areas/digital-technologies-and-interoperability/
      • Establishment of Australian clusters of industry stakeholder to leverage the OIIE.

This is a placeholder for our first introduction to the workshop series to start collaborating on a technical and commercial basis. Now is the time to become involved.

Please reach out to your network and forward this invitation to interested parties.
